ECOVERO: The advantages of viscose, in a responsible version!

Discover EcoVero fabric: eco-friendly, fluid and aesthetically pleasing, it has it all. It will hold no more secrets for you!

Certified responsible production:

EcoVero generates 50% fewer emissions and 50% less water consumption* than traditional viscose. The water used is then cleaned and returned to nature.

*according to Higg MSI

Biodegradable:

This textile is biodegradable! If the parts cut from the ecovero are assembled without harmful threads, the EcoVero garment will not leave any microplastics in nature.

At Aatise, the seams on this type of textile are made of cotton (as on all our garments).

Waste reduction:

Our pre-order system limits stocks and therefore waste throughout the manufacturing process. No stock = no overproduction. We create parts on demand!

Oeko-Tex printing:

Design inks are certified free of substances harmful to health and the environment.

Important reminder about eco-responsible creations

The production process isn't perfect, of course, but it does tend to move the textile industry towards sustainable materials, which is a big challenge.

At Aatise, ecovero allows us to produce pieces that are more fluid than linen. It also enables us to offer original patterns/prints that are impossible on wool.

How EcoVero is made:

An innovative creative process

ECOVERO is a material produced by the Lenzing brand used to make eco-responsible pieces. Also known as eco-responsible viscose, it uses an innovative creation process to keep pollution to a minimum. The process is 100% chlorine-free.

Step 1

Wood chips from FSC-certified forests or sustainable sources are extracted, ground and transformed into cellulose. Ranked by the Canopy association as one of the world's best producers of eco-responsible viscose, due to its sustainable sourcing. Also certified by the European Ecolabel.

Step 2

Wood cellulose is dissolved in a solvent, which is then recycled and recovered in a closed-loop system. Transparency on the solvent: carbon disulphide CS2

Step 3

Spinning is carried out from the cellulose solution, extracted through spinnerets to form continuous filaments. Continuous filaments = yarn

Step 4 & 5

Fibers are mechanically drawn to improve length and strength. The fibers are then washed and the solvent recovered. The solvent is 99% reused/recycled.

Step 6

Rolls are created to facilitate transport and subsequent use by textile manufacturers. And that's it! The fabric is ready to arrive at our small French workshop in the Bordeaux region (33-Villenave d'Ornon), where we make our garments with passion and ethics.
